Johnny Reid In Nashville

I have talked to Johnny Reid and even met his wife, and I have seen him in concert here in Fort McMurray but I have never seen him in Nashville…and I don’t mean the TV show! Country 93.3 listener Leesa Bisson went to check out Johnny out at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville and sent me this pic! Bone Marrow Hockey Game Touches Home In Fort McMurray

Yesterday I had 2 guys on to talk about an up coming charity hockey game where they want to sign people up for the bone marrow registry. Right after the interview Verna Murphy, a local writer, Tweeted that she was excited about this game because she had a transplant and knows several people in the community that have been affected as well! This is a touching story!

Three Oklahoma natives are taking big steps toward helping Moore, Oklahoma, recover from a massive tornado. Blake Shelton will do a benefit called “Healing in the Heartland” next week in Oklahoma City. The show will air on N-B-C , meanwhile, fellow Oklahoma native Carrie Underwood is donating one million dollars from her recent “Blown Away” tour to help the relief effort. That money will go to the Red Cross. And Moore, Oklahoma, native Toby Keith is planning his own benefit with the date, place and lineup yet to be announced.

Kelly Clarkson, the original ‘American Idol,’ won’t revisit her former stomping grounds, despite rumors. The pop-country diva will not take a seat at the judge’s table for Season 13 in 2014, which is expected to be totally revamped and overhauled with a new set of celebrity panelists. The show is grasping at staws to stay on the air for next season!

And Jason Aldean has decided to ‘take a little ride’ on the wild side and let his fans help decide the next single from his hit record ‘Night Train.’ With ten No. 1 songs under his belt, he’s hoping those who know best will be able to choose his next hit. The singer posted on Facebook, along with a photo displaying the three options he’s weighing from his certified Platinum album.

If you ask me, I think the star of the night was Keith Urban.

I think the most bizarre/interesting story to come out of the evening was the one about the couple who STABBED one another over the results! stay safe.

Traffic Free For All!

Secret roads, illegal turns, cars on high load over passes, people ignoring lights, extra cars on the road, bad lights timing, and just not enough roads for people to take to get to work! With little or no enforcement, these are going to be the best way to get to work from now on! Just drive to work up the median in one of these and no one will stop you…it’s pretty close to this already…take a listen to the calls I got this morning, some of them are actually good suggestions!

Country 93.3 Visiting Suncor

I have been here 2 years now, and have yet to be out on the oil sands…well I have been out there, you just can’t really see anything from the road! Suncor opened it’s gates to us yesterday and we had a chance to see how oil sands is mined, processed and then how they reclaimed a mine for wildlife. I have to admit the best part of the tour for me was the reclaimed land…I just have no idea why they don’t promote it! Oil Sands companies have so much bad press, why do they not rub this in everyone’s face…they know what they are doing I’m just a guy on the radio!
