For the fifth week in-a-row, the juggernaut that is Luke Combs has a strangle-hold on the #1 spot on the Billboard Canada Country Music airplay chart with “Beer Never Broke My Heart.” It’s the longest rein of his five #1’s at the top of the chart. His first chart single, “Hurricane,” peaked at #2 in Canada.

Some Luke Combs chart facts (since the chart began in 2013):

-his five #1’s tie him with Kenny Chesney for sixth spot on the list of artists with the most #1’s in Canada; Luke Bryan and Blake Shelton are tied for the record with 13 chart-toppers each;

-combined, Luke’s five #1’s have spent a total of 15 weeks at the top, tying him for sixth place with Jason Aldean; Blake Shelton also holds the record with a total of 39 weeks at #1;

-“Beer Never Broke My Heart” joins four other songs that spent five weeks at #1 and three other songs that spent five weeks in-a-row at the top; the record for most weeks at #1 and most consecutive weeks at #1 is six, with “Different For Girls” by Dierks Bentley and Elle King and Thomas Rhett’s “Die a Happy Man” tied for both records.

The truly amazing aspect of Combs’ success on the Canadian chart is that it only began less than two years ago! It’ll be interesting to see what next week holds in store for the Grand Ole Opry’s newest member.
