An Uber driver allegedly left a woman in labor stranded on a Manhattan sidewalk last November after he saw her vomiting. David Lee recently told Fortune.com that he and his wife were trying to get a ride to a hospital three miles away, but that the driver informed the couple that he would lose $1,000 if the woman got sick in his car. He then drove off–but not before charging them $13 for his lost time. Lee said they were able to hail another Uber successfully, but that the ride-hiring company made it difficult for him to obtain more information on the first driver when he wanted to file a complaint with New York’s taxi regulator. Uber has has issued an apology and refunded the couple’s $13. Way to be generous, guys.
