Johnny Cash, The Man In Black is easily one of the most distinct, iconic voices in all of Country Music. He had already carved out one the most impressive careers ever- then in the late 90’s, early 2000’s he saw a resurgence. Working with legendary producer Rick Rubin (Beastie Boys, Slayer), Cash made some of the greatest albums of his life covering artists like Soundgarden, Neil Young and Nirvana. His cover of Nine Inch Nails “Hurt” was a huge hit just before his death in 2003. It was such an iconic performance that even Nine Inch Nails singer Trent Reznor proclaimed “It’s Johnny’s song now”. It’s been 14 years since we lost Johnny but his later era music has seen a bit of a resurgence as of late thanks to Hollywood!
