Is there a potential collaboration brewing between Brad Paisley and the country-curious rapper Post Malone? While it appears likely, Paisley is keeping the details under wraps for now.

Post Malone entered the conversation during Paisley’s appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Monday night (Dec. 4). Confirming that he is working on a new album, Paisley was asked by host Jimmy Fallon if the project might include a duet with Post Malone, to which the country singer responded affirmatively.

“Well, we’ll see,” Paisley commented, noting that they have been working together in the studio. This collaboration was hinted at by a photo Paisley shared last month featuring the two artists.

“I worked with him a couple of nights. To give you an idea of his work ethic … I spent an entire night with him once. The next night, I left a bit earlier, and he calls me at 11 AM, saying, ‘Hey, if you can fix that one guitar part in the studio today, I’m going to bed.’ And that was at 11 AM,” Paisley humorously shared.

Post Malone’s connection with Paisley goes back, as he covered the country hit “I’m Gonna Miss Her (The Fishin’ Song)” at Matthew McConaughey’s “We’re Texas” fundraiser in 2021. Post Malone’s love for country music has been evident, and he has expressed interest in releasing a full country album. After a Joe Diffie tribute performance at the 2023 CMA Awards, Post Malone confirmed progress on a country album during a Twitch livestream in late November.

The collaboration between Post Malone and Paisley is confirmed; the question now is which album will feature their joint effort. Both artists are actively working on their respective albums, and the possibility of a duet is open.

Expressing admiration for Post Malone, Paisley stated, “I love him. He’s the greatest guy, and he loves country music. We’ll see if we do something. You never know.”

During his appearance on The Tonight Show, Paisley also performed his new song, “Son of the Mountains.” This track, along with “The Medicine Will,” sheds light on Paisley’s West Virginia upbringing, addressing the impact of the opioid epidemic on the state.
