Dolly Parton has always said she would never retire, but the Queen of Country Music isn’t even slowing down. In fact, she seems to be speeding up as she announces her newest book, a children’s story, will be out on October 1st (available for pre-order now).

Billy the Kid Comes Home for Christmas is the second book featuring her god-dog, Billy. The French bulldog became a superstar in his first book, Billy the Kid Makes It Big, and in the new story, he faces the dilemma of going home for the holidays or seizing the opportunity to play Barkafeller Center on Christmas day.

Dolly says, “Using my ‘Comin’ Home for Christmas’ lyrics, I wanted to tell a story about the importance of family and friends, especially during the holidays. I hope this is a book families will be excited to read every year for Christmas.”
